Description |
Blue RCAF tunic (a) and trousers (b) A. Tunic that is "Airforce Blue" colour. It has two shoulder flashes with "CANADA" and notched lapels. It has two large pockets with button-down flaps and two button-down chest pockets, with snaps to keep the flat down flat. Near each cuff is a white-striped black band affixed on each sleeve. The front has a sewn-on cloth belt, also airforce blue, with one snap and a two-tine brass item for securing it. The tunic has four brass loop-shanked, sewn on buttons, 2.5 cm in diameter, that have "R.C.A.F." and a crown above a bird in flight design. There are smaller 1.8 cm diameter brass R.C.A.F. buttons on the pockets. There is a black lining inside the body of the tunic, with a white/ecru lining for the sleeves. There is 31 cm-long intentional back slit. There is a black cloth strip sewn at the inner collar nape area for hanging the tunic up on a hook. No labels seen. An appliqued RCAF winged device is on the left breast area, with a ribbon placement group underneath for 6 medals. B. Trousers that are"Airforce Blue". The waistband has striped material inside. Two pockets [button-down flap one on the right, a slit pocket on the left]. The fly has four buttons and a catch. The buttons are grey plastic ones with 4 holes each, and are 1.8 cm in diameter. The pants have suspender-holding buttons as well (the donor call's suspenders "braces"). There is a 4 cm high split in the waistband. There is striped selvedge visible inside the pant legs. No labels seen. |
