Description |
Victorian sofa, upholstered in a beige / pink damask fabric. The sofa (settee) also has button-back upholstery. Some matching braid trim is present as part of the upholstery work. Centrally the back has a horizontal wooden oval, wherein is a medallion of upholstery that matches the rest. Its styling suggests a combination of Victorian Renaissance and Eastlake? The frame is made from finished walnut. The front wooden areas of the arms have incised decor. There is a wave-like decorative moulding along the bottom edge of the front of the settee. No maker's name is present on it. The legs have roller castors. The back side of the settee has the same beige / pink fabric present. The underside of the settee has black fabric tacked on. |
