Provenance |
Unknown maker. Owned and used by the Hugh and Jane McKay family, who farmed in the Annan area one mile north of Leith in Sydenham Township at Concession ___, Lot ____. It was likely used by Jane or one of her daughters. One of the McKay sons was Donald Gordon (Doug) McKay (b. 1899) and he farmed at the same property. In the late 1930s, the McKays farmed at RR#1 Owen Sound (Annan / Leith area) and in 1940 Doug McKay and his family moved to a farm at RR#5 Owen Sound (Derby Township). His daughter, Donna McKay-Mills, inherited the item. |
