Ornate, silver-plated, lidded, footed teapot. The decoration on this teapot exhibits Greco-African influences. There is decorative banding around the top of the vessel, and a scene depicting a carriage, lanterns and potted palms on its sides. The arm forms a rough triangle with the body of the vessel and is attached at the rim (where the lid is hinged to the body) and at the wider part of the body. The vessel sits on highly decorated feet. The spout is tall and close to the body of the vessel. The lid has an ornate, trefoil-shaped lift knob. |
