Description |
One gold crucifix pendant (for a necklace). It was given to Athryn Athena Manjuris when she was born at Owen Sound (c. 1921-1922). It has a faceted clear brilliant stone in the centre, with a rayed design around the setting, and a plain jump ring. No maker's mark is present. |

Unknown maker, and presented to Athryn Athena Manjuris when she was born in Owen Sound, Grey County, on _________, 1921?. There was a manufacturing jeweller in town, named James H. Newton, but no verification that he made it. Athryn's father, George Manjuris, owned a pair of cuff links obtained from the Newton store (found in the same accession). Mr. Manjuris had a tobacco and billiards business / store along Main Street Owen Sound for many years. Athryn Manjuris died in Owen Sound on February 17, 2010, at the age of eighty-nine. She is buried with her parents in Greenwood Cemetery. This item was found among items in her Estate, and was last owned by her relative, Michael E. Comars. |
