Description |
Slightly rectangular-shaped First Nations-made woven basket with no handle or lid. The rim is attached with tiny metal nails driven from the outside inward. It has some faint red dye seen. |
Provenance |
Unknown. Last owned by Alma Stott of RR#1 Bognor, Sydenham Township, Grey County. Many farm homes in Grey and Bruce Counties had examples of First Nations-made basketry in them, as the local Ojibwa peddled baskets in the late 19th-century and early 20th-century (up to about the 1940s). |
