Corn-pattern "ROYAL IRONSTONE CHINA" ALFRED MEAKIN LTD. oval-shaped meat or serving platter. The underside has a transfer-printed maker's mark. The perimeter of the platter has wide scallops to its overall ovoid shape. There is a moulded corn pattern around the rim. White glazed platter |

Made in England by the Alfred Meakin Ltd. pottery. This pottery did not use "Ltd." as part of their mark until around 1897 and onward. Last owned by siblings, Helen Evans (neé Hindman) and Howard Hindman who grew up in Owen Sound, Grey County. Their parents were Capt. George Hindman and Blanche Hindman (neé Proctor). |
