Description |
Sad iron base made of cast iron. Has a thick base and a thin lid which is secured by two large screws. Lid has two holes in the top on which a removeable handle would clip. Also, a number 2 is cast-embossed on each side of these holes, and the words "TAYLOR--FORBES / GUELPH CANADA" are cast-embossed above and below them, respectively. |

Manufactured by the Taylor-Forbes Company of Guelph, which was founded in 1902. The company was comprised of the former A.R. Woodyatt and Company business and Guelph Malleable Iron Works and soon became one of Canada's largest manufacturers of lawn mowers and general hardware. |
