Description |
A colourless, pressed glass medicine bottle, with a cork-style lip and narrow, ridged neck. It is labelled with a form-printed prescription label from the H. Kress drugstore at Chatsworth. The label identifies that the prescription was made by Dr. H. E. Mountain for Russel Galbraith [James Russell Galbraith], dated 27/10/41 [1941]. The back of the bottle is emboss-moulded with graduations and an apothecary symbol 3VIII for the fluid capacity (eight ounces). The bottom of the bottle is emboss-moulded with a "D", and "REX OVAL / TRADEMARK REG", with a "C" inside an inverted triangle mark. |

Made by Consumers Glass and dates to 1941. The prescription was filled at the H. Kress drugstore in the village of Chatsworth, Grey County. James Russell Galbraith was a First World War veteran who farmed in the Arnott area Holland Township, Grey County. The item was passed down to Bradley Cuzen of British Columbia. |
