Description |
One clear glass preserving jar. The front reads "MADE IN CANADA- PERFECT SEAL WIDE MOUTH ADJUSTABLE" is rasied lettering. The bottom of the jar has been pressed with "5DH". The lid is also made of glass. There is a metal wire that fits over top and insures the seal. There is also a beige piece of rubber inbetween the lid and the jar. |

Used in Owen Sound, Grey County by the Vick family. Dorothy Vick used it last. Dominion Glass was created in 1913, when the Diamond Flint Glass Co. (Limited) and other companies merged. The Dominion Glass Company Limited was known as such until 1976. In 1987, it was known as Domglas Inc. The book A CENTURY OF CANADIAN GLASS FRUIT JARS, by Douglas and Marion Bird and Charles Corke, 1971, mentions that Perfect Seal jars were made in large quantities in the 1910s and 1920s. |
