Circa 1894, George Beatty owned a foundry at Fergus, Ontario. A 1914 book listed "Beatty Bros. Ltd." as a manufacturer of stable fittings. A 1920 Canadian Trade Inde book listed Beatty Bros. as manufacturing washing machines, pumps, ladders, lawn hydrants and barn fittings. A 1930 reference book lited the company as still making washing machines and stable fittings. The company had branches as well. A "Beatty Barn Book" from 1937 illustrated their products. At that time, the head office was at Fergus, Ont., an the branches were at St. John, Montreal, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Vernon, Vancouver, London (England) and Wellington (New Zealand). |
