Jennie Hurlbut's maiden name was Miss Jennie Edna Day, and she grew up in Keppel Township, Grey County, Ontario, in the Lake Charles area. Her parents were Frederick Day and the former Elizabeth Cowden. She married Charles Merritt Hurlbut on Dec. 23, 1908. Charles was a son of Homer Hurlbut and the former Annie Ashton of Keppel Township (and they were in the Kemble area). Charles was born on Oct. 9, 1880. He died on Sept. 29, 1971. Mrs. Hurlbut passed away in May of 1973. They are buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Owen Sound. |
