Grace A. McLean was one of the daughters of John McLean and Elizabeth McLean (neé Blyth or Blythe). Grace was born on December 19, 1864, at Owen Sound, Canada West. Her parents resided at 37 High Street, which was on the easthill area of Owen Sound. Grace enjoyed doing fine silk embroidery work. A couple of her 1890s silk embroidery doilies still exist. Her father passed away in 1900, and in the 1901 census, Grace was no longer at 37 High Street, but listed at Princess St. West, with her widowed mother, and her sister Mary. Grace A. McLean passed away in 1931. |
