In 1931, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Reekie supported a fundraiser of the Banks Church, by subscribing to a name quilt. There is a Reekie-Rendall family history in the Grey County Archives. Captain George Reekie emigrated from Scotland and settled around 1849 in the Lot 26, Concession 7 area of Collingwood Township. His son George Reekie planted a first apple orchard in 1855 on Lot 26.
