Circa 1879, there was a store along Owen Sound's main street (Poulett St.), that was called "Wolfe & Le Pan". By June, 1879, there was a newspaper advertisement for W. F. Wolfe being an "importer", as well as an advertisement for a "new" hardware store, called Redfern & Le Pan. Circa 1904, there was a Wolfe drygoods store at Owen Sound, located at ____________. A printed tin container, stencilled with WOLFE & LE PAN, and Owen Sound, provides the information that they sold Dry Goods, Wines, and Liquors. |
