The Williamsford Women's Institute group was organized on January 2, 1906, at the home of Mrs. Louis Privat. The first President was Mrs. William Mitchell, the Secretary-Treasurer was Mrs. Becker, and Miss Duncan was in charge of the meeting. By 1936-1937, the group had 38 members. Mrs. Alex McClure was made the group's first Life Member on October 8, 1949. Mrs. Thelma Kuglin (nee Liscombe) was awarded Life Membership status in the Williamsford Women's Institute group, in 1964 and in 1973-1974. In 1964, Mrs. Hazel Davey was President of the group, and Laura Gibbs was Secretary. At the 75th Anniversary tea, held June 21, 1981, the following were recorded in a photograph: Mrs. Irene Dinsmore, Mrs. Thelma Kuglin, Mrs. Douglas Mimms, Mrs. Murray Davey, Mrs. John Fee, Mrs. Gordon Dyer, Mrs. Clifford McComb, Mrs. Cecil Wheeden, Mrs. Arthur Miller, Mrs. Martin McNeil and Mrs. William Glasser.
