Notes |
There were two men with the name of Harry Kress. In January, 1948, when the Chatsworth one passed away, the Durham one attended his funeral. There is a medicine bottle in the Grey Roots Museum collection that is from the H. Kress drugstore. The label on it is printed with "H. KRESS / Phone 35 Druggist Chatsworth, Ont." It was dated Oct. 27, 1941. The bottle looks old-fashioned, as it took a cork stopper, instead of a metal screw-top. Likely pharmacies across Canada had to use glassware with less metal, to help the war effort. Harry Kress started his drugstore business circa 19__. |
