The book BEAUTIFUL STONEY KEPPEL mentions Earl Cole and a folk art barnyard set that he made: "EARL COLE, WOODCARVER Earl Cole was born in 1899 in North Keppel, son of Carl Cole and Amelia Ward. Married to Ellen Mooney, he farmed Lot 30, Con. 24 till 1951, when he retired to Balmy Beach, and did carpentry. He and his wife had four children: Irene, Cecil, Dorothy and Mervyn. In later years he enjoyed carving, and donated the pictured log barn and small animals to the Grey Owen Sound Museum". (BEAUTIFUL STONEY KEPPEL, 1986, pp. 225, 308-309). Mr. Cole passed away in 1974. |
