Mr. and Mrs. Cordingley presented the colours to the 147th Grey (Overseas) Battalion during the First World War. This event took place at Camp Borden in the summer of 1916 (August 22, 1916). At the time, Mr. Cordingley was the Warden of Grey County. Mr. Cordingley had a general store at Shallow Lake circa 1914 (see BEAUTIFUL STONEY KEPPEL, p. 178). There was a Mr. Cordingley from England, who also had a connection to the cement industry of Grey County. When Mr. R. J.
