Miss Amy Kennedy used to live in the house formerly used by the Inglis family, at Inglis Falls (Derby Mills). Her mother, Helen Kennedy, was one of the chidren of the Peter and Ann Inglis family, and Amy's father, Thomas Kennedy, was a member of the Kennedy family of Owen Sound. Thomas had died on October 18, 1878, age 35, of heart disease, when Amy was a child. He had been a Machinist. In the 1921 census, she resided at ______________. Amy later moved in to town (Owen Sound) to reside. There is a framed, hand-drawn Kennedy family tree (1933) in the Grey County archives that records her relatives. There are also archival images that pertain to the Kennedy and Inglis family at Grey Roots. A. Amy Kennedy was born in 1876. She died in 1963 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Owen Sound, along with other members of her family. |
