Rhoda Jean Ross was born on _________, 1897. Her parents were George Ross, and ______ Ross (nee _________). Rhoda's father worked as a postmaster at Owen Sound, circa 1____. There is a photograph of the George Ross family residence at 271 7th St. East, Owen Sound, Ontario. Gertie and Rhoda Ross were daughters of Mr. and Mrs. George Ross. The Ross residence is seen in photographs 1984.022.019 and 1984.022.020. Rhoda Ross is shown in a photograph of the Boyd St. school 1910 Entrance Class (2nd Row, 4th girl), see 1984.022.075. In 1917, "Rhoda J. Ross" subscribed to a fund-raising quilt that was made by the Springmount Red Cross helpers. She likely paid ten cents. Projects like this helped the war effort. The name quilt is in the Grey Roots Collection. Rhoda married Robert Pollock Kennedy Jr. in February, 1928. The couple later resided in Guelph, Ontario for a long time. Their daughter Rosemary Kennedy became a teacher. Their son, Ross Kennedy (=Robert Ross Kennedy), had died at the age of eight in 1939.
