Details |
This was the masthead name of a newspaper that had been published at Markdale (in Grey County) for a long time. In 1880, Mr. C. W. Rutledge purchased the MARKDALE EXPOSITOR from George J. Blythe, and changed its name to the MARKDALE STANDARD. Its first issue was Sept. 17, 1880. It was located at Toronto Street in the Hill Block. The paper's size was increased to eight columns at that time. - - - - MARKDALE: CROSSROADS OF GREY, 1988, p. 22 |
