The Misses Spragge (Doris & Marjorie) were daughters of J. George Spragge and May Barnhart Spragge of Owen Sound, Ontario. Doris Spragge died on May 3, 1967, and Marjorie Spragge died on Oct. 14, 1977. Their father, J. G. (George) Spragge was a son of John Crooke Spragge. Their ancestor Spragges had moved to Owen Sound in the 1850s from Toronto, and had originally been a Wiltshire, England family. The Spragges were a prominent family in the town of Owen Sound, and John Crooke Spragge had served as Grey County's County Audtior.

Marjorie & her sister Doris Spragge resided in their family home along 3rd Ave. East, Owen Sound, Grey County. 3rd Ave. East was formerly known as "Bay St." prior to 1909.

Marjorie worked as a _________. Her sister Doris was a teacher (listed as such in the 1921 census), and taught at ______ School. Circa 1921, Doris was the President of the Women Teachers Association at Owen Sound.

The Spragges were Church of England, so they likely attended St. George's Anglican Church.

Their father, John G. Spragge, passed away at home on October 18, 1932. He was buried at Greenwood Cemetery.
