| Notes | In the late 1850s, the Wm. Kennedy family moved to Owen Sound, Canada West.  Mrs. Kennedy was formerly Miss Agnes Stark (born in Quebec), and William Kennedy was an iron founder / millwright who had emigrated from Scotland.  They had lived at several different places in Canada West before they settled in Owen Sound.  Thomas had been born at _________ in Canada West in 184_. Thomas Kennedy of Owen Sound married Helen Inglis, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter and Ann Inglis of Derby Township in December, 1869, at their home at Inglis Falls. Thomas was recorded as a 27-year-old Millwright. The Kennedy family resided in Owen Sound, Ontario. Thomas worked as a "Machinist", but unfortunately died at the age of 35, due to heart disease. He passed away on October 18, 1878. Mrs. Helen Kennedy died in 1924 at the age of 77, and was buried at Greenwood Cemetery. Their daughter, Miss Amy Kennedy, resided at Inglis Falls and Owen Sound, Ontario. There is a hand-drawn Kennedy family tree (framed) in the Grey County Archives collection. |
