1850s Owen Sound, Canada West produced some furniture (Chatwin & Comely), and the Corbet foundry also produced iron and brass items. 1860s 1870s 1880s William Taylor started a bottling company in Owen Sound. He and J. C. Pringle created the Belfast Gingerale works (Taylor & Pringle). 1890s In 1891, the North American Bent Chair Co. began producing chairs (they were the first in Canada to produce steam-bent chairs), and exported these overseas. 1900-1910 1910s J. K. McLauchlan manufactured "Kill-Kare" child restraint devices. 1920s The North American Bent Chair Co. The North American Furniture Co. The Owen Sound Chair Co. Keenan toothpicks were advertised in the T. Eaton & Co. 1927 catalogue 1930s The North American Bent Chair Co. The Harris Furniture Co. The North American Furniture Co. The Owen Sound Chair Co. 1940s Noma Toy Co. briefly in operation (made wooden toys and dolls during the war-time period) The North American Bent Chair Co. ceased in 1945. RCA Victor purchased the building and made radio cabinets and television cabinets.
